Help Sisters Run the World Update!

Thanks to your participation in this year’s 3rd annual Help Sisters Run the World virtual race, we are now 2,000 miles closer towards our goal of hitting 24,901 miles walked, biked, or ran — the total circumference of the globe!

This isn’t just about exercise. With your support, we are also directly supporting the important humanitarian work of Sisters around the world. For every 2,000 miles logged, we will traverse the globe to spotlight the inspiring work of Sisters, all made possible by Sisters Rising Worldwide and people like you.

Our first feature is located in New York, USA!

Thanks to your support, The Lifeway Network of New York continues to operate safe houses for human trafficking survivors in the New York metropolitan area. Survivors of human trafficking are often left without sufficient financial resources to rebuild their lives and experience economic instability. Lifeway’s educational programs address this situation by providing survivors with the skills, resources and support necessary to gain financial independence. Through workshops led by a dedicated care team and volunteers, survivors are taught how to create their own resumes, improve their interview and job skills, create an email account, and learn personal banking and financial literacy. The impact of the program is significant: of the 155 survivors have participated, 79 percent have found employment and/or have started small businesses. Most importantly, of the 155 survivors that participated in Lifeway’s safe housing program, all participants have maintained their independence.

Keep on running, walking, and biking, and let’s continue to help Sisters run the world!
