#238A – From Streets to Schools: Giving Nairobi’s Children a Future of Hope

Summary of the Situation

Nairobi has seen a sharp rise in the number of street children and homeless families. Many of these children are driven to the streets by extreme poverty, family breakdowns, the death of parents, and the lack of basic necessities such as food, shelter, and healthcare. Life on the streets exposes them to violence, exploitation, and drug abuse, trapping them in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness. Without timely intervention, these children face a future with limited opportunities and no access to education or meaningful employment.

Sisters Response to the root cause of the injustice

To combat this growing crisis, the Sisters are focused on rehabilitation and education as key solutions. By providing shelter, care, and structured learning opportunities, the Sisters equip children with essential skills and knowledge to build a better future. Education not only opens doors to employment but also empowers these children to break free from poverty and lead independent, dignified lives.
