Sisters Rising Worldwide: Q1 2025 Impact Report
Our latest Impact Report highlights a season filled with significant achievements and unwavering dedication to addressing the root causes of injustice worldwide.
In Mindanao, Philippines, the land is just not producing like it used to.
Paying the price from years of pesticide use, Sister Helen has convinced the famers that the solution to their dilemma is organic farming–and after five years of helping them rehabilitate their land, fishing, and forests, those practices are working and more and more farmers from farther away and coming to attend workshops.
Sr. Helen received some funding to begin building her ecology center that will allow farmers from farther away to come for week long workshops for hands-on learning. There are not many options for getting this kind of help. Local farmers have been offering hospitality but Sr. Helen realizes that the multi-purpose center that she is building will become the hub of the community, engaging all in caring for the earth.
