Donor Spotlight: Lennie Fenton’s Heart for Service and Global Impact

At Sisters Rising Worldwide, we are blessed to have incredible supporters, like recurring donor Lennie Fenton, whose commitment to making a global impact drives her service and philanthropy. Lennie’s connection to Sisters Rising Worldwide began when friend and SRW COO Kelly Mallon Young introduced her to our work. Since then, she’s been a steadfast advocate for our mission. Lennie reflects a life of faith, service, and a deep desire to make the world a better place—one donation at a time.

What resonates with Lennie is being able to see and follow what the Sisters are doing around the world. “Just seeing the direct impact the Sisters have brings so much joy,” Lennie shared. “To know that supporting them supports women and children all over the world, educating, feeding, helping!”

When choosing the causes she supports, Lennie is thoughtful and intentional. “I support organizations where most of the money raised goes to the people who need it most, not administration,” she remarked. Knowing that 90% of all contributions to Sisters Rising Worldwide go directly to helping the Sisters lead poverty-ending projects makes her monthly support even more meaningful.

Lennie Fenton and family

Lennie’s passion for service began at a young age. She grew up in a family of missionaries who started a clinic in Nigeria, and her parents’ tireless work in food pantries and volunteer efforts shaped her deep commitment to philanthropy. Later in life, her pastor, Andy Hagen, and his wife, Susan, invited Lennie and her husband, Mark, on a service trip to Haiti in 2003. That trip sparked a deeper connection to serving others. “We were hooked,” said Lennie.  “We went every year, and in 2014, we decided to start our own not-for-profit organization called SidebySide for Christ.”

This is why Sisters Rising Worldwide is close to her heart. “I understand what it takes to run a non-profit and how challenging it is to keep people interested and willing to donate. Each dollar is such a blessing. No one in this organization takes it for granted.”

Lennie encourages others to consider joining her as a recurring donor, saying, “Not everyone is called to work in the poorest conditions and countries in the world, but these Sisters have heard and accepted that calling. Your donations make it possible for them to continue to do the work God called them to do.”

Lennie’s heartfelt gratitude extends not just to the Sisters she supports but to the entire SRW community. “Thank you, and God bless the Sisters around the world who work tirelessly to bring faith, hope, and love to those who need it most, and thank you to the donors who support them!”

Outside of her philanthropic work, Lennie loves to travel and has recently visited Ireland, Portugal, and France. Now based in Colorado, she enjoys exploring the mountains near her home.

Thank you, Lennie, and the Fenton Family, for your involvement with Sisters Rising Worldwide!

As Lennie acknowledged, recurring giving is a powerful way to make a sustained global impact. We invite you to join her as a monthly donor and help make a difference in communities worldwide.
