SRW helped fund an educational campaign with Aguilas del Desierto called "Saving Lives by Raising Awareness." Aguilas del Desierto (Eagles of the Desert) is an organization dedicated to helping families whose loved ones have gone missing in the desert along the US/Mexico border, providing search and rescue operations and other services. Sr. Maria Louise Edwards, a Felician Sister of North America, is on the board of the organization.

As part of the campaign, Aguilas representatives visited migrant centers throughout Mexico to inform and educate migrants who are thinking of crossing the border about the many real and life-threatening dangers they will encounter. Often, the young and vulnerable who are thinking about crossing are unaware of the dangers they will face. In addition, the team published and distributed brochures, posters, and flyers to share with migrants outlining the risks of crossing. "If this campaign prevents even one death, Sr. Maria Louise says, "all our efforts are worth it.”
