Emergency Generators Delivered to Ukraine

When war came to Ukraine, the Sisters of the Divine Savior answered the call to ensure the safety of those left behind. Thanks to a grant from Sisters Rising Worldwide, the Sisters provided generators to the people living in some of the most devastated communities. Below is a translation of the thank you letter recieved from the Auxiliary Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Lviv. Thank you to our donors for ensuring Sisters around the world can provide swift aid to those in need.
Dear Sisters!
The day of February 24, 2022 will go down in history for Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation as a tragic moment in recent history. But it will also be a day on which it became clearer than ever before, who is our brother and sister, our true friend in a difficult time of trials of war. The Polish people came to our aid - opening their homes to refugees from Ukraine and sending aid to those people who remained.
Dear Sisters, thanks to your solidarity, which is the embodiment of the Gospel, thanks to your tremendous help we received on August 25, 2023 a grant to purchase 125 generators for people living in the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine.
On September 19, 2023, in the early morning hours, the west of Ukraine and especially Lviv were attacked by Russian military drones. As a result of this attack, Caritas Spes Ukraine warehouses in Lviv were burned down. In these warehouses was collected aid for the whole of Ukraine for the winter time.
Thanks to your tremendous support, we were able to purchase 125 generators of various power. A sizable portion of these generators have already been delivered and continue to be delivered to the most devastated towns along the front lines. When distributing these generators, we have used the help of Ukrainian soldiers since there are some villages and towns where only soldiers and those residents who have remained there live in basements and shelters.
May God reward you Dear Sisters of the Divine Savior, and Sisters Rising Worldwide, for your hearts full of love for your neighbors in need. May God bless you all and grant you all graces.
We will always be grateful to you.
Bp Edward Kawa
Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lviv
