Safe and Comfortable Housing for Recovering Trafficking Victims

Founded in 2007 by Catholic Sisters, the Lifeway Network provides safe housing and support for victims of human trafficking as well as anti-trafficking education and advocacy to the community. When Lifeway undertook to renovate a building into a new safe house for survivors, Sr. Carol of the Sisters of Divine Compassion turned to SRW for help to bring the project to life.
Thanks to our donors, SRW funded the purchase of new appliances and air conditioning units for the safe house, improving the safety, comfort, and daily functioning of the home. “These items ensure a stable, welcoming environment for residents as they rebuild their lives,” Lifeway reports. “Now, residents have access to something most of us take for granted: clean clothes, on their own time, without financial strain. It’s a small shift that brings big relief—and restores a sense of dignity and independence.”
Residents have been especially grateful to have air conditioning in the home during the summer months. One woman shares, "Having cool air in the house makes it feel safe and peaceful, especially during the summer heat. My room feels comfortable, and I can finally sleep well."
